Séjour parfait chez Irène.
Le logement est comme sur les photos, très fonctionnel et charmant. Le village est très agréable, les habitants également.

Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous !

We spent five nights of our Italian vacation in Pergine Valdarno, a beautiful little community in Tuscany.

We chose the "La Miccia" apartment in the basement of an old stone house because of its quiet location and the amenities of a fireplace and whirlpool. We were happy to pay a little more for that. The apartment is spacious and nicely furnished. Overall, you get a feel for authentic Tuscan life. Also the village is pretty nice and authentic.

We received a lot of information about the apartment and the surrounding area in advance and felt well prepared. We were also personally greeted upon arrival and shown everything.

Unfortunately, we have to point out one problem here:
We quickly got the impression that using the fireplace was not really desired. For example, due to the response to our question about fire wood, which stated that it was probably too warm for the fireplace anyway (although the temperature was below 10 degrees Celsius at night), and also because we were not given contact information for the wood supplier despite assurances.
The fireplace still showed signs of the previous tenants' unsuccessful attempts to use it. At first, we thought it wouldn't work because the wood was too damp. We tried several times and even bought dry wood ourselves.
Despite all our efforts, we were unable to light a fire in the fireplace, presumably because the vent wasn't working properly (possibly because birds were nesting there), and the logs weren't really catching fire because there was hardly any airflow. As soon as the firelighters ran out, the logs just glowed. The entire apartment filled with smoke very quickly, and we had to take the time to air everything out. Carbon monoxide is also produced in such cases, which can be dangerous if you're not aware of it.
We also pointed this out to the owner, Irene, and asked her to take action if necessary. Future tenants are advised not to use the fireplace if it isn't working properly.
She also inspected the fireplace the next day while we were out, but in her opinion, there was no problem, and it hadn't been an issue in the last few months either. We can only confirm that there was definitely a problem with the fireplace during our stay.

Overall, contact with Irene was always very reliable and prompt. Even during a personal meeting, she greeted us very openly and warmly and, over drinks, gave us some tips for planning the next few days. She also recommended a few places to visit and beautiful routes through Tuscany. She really was always available and tried to help.

The whirlpool worked well overall, although some of the jets on one side were broken, meaning the massage function was only usable for one person.

One of the two gas burners in the kitchen could only be lit with a lighter, as the ignition mechanism appeared to be defective.

The last two days, the internet connection in the accommodation was down, and according to Irene, the problem couldn't be resolved quickly. Unfortunately, this meant we couldn't make any meaningful use of the TV with the Amazon Fire TV Stick for the remaining time.

Unfortunately, we can't give a better overall rating because there were too many problems overall and we specifically chose the accommodation because of the fireplace and pool and were also willing to pay a little more for these two things compared to other accommodations. Without the mentioned problems we would rate better.

We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the past several years and have never experienced a host who took the time to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Irene went out of her way to make sure we had the best possible experience in Tuscany. She always responded to any questions we had and gave great suggestions for visits to nearby areas of interest . She arranged tours to local attractions and even surprised us with a "secret" outing. The accommodations were excellent with lots of room for 2 guests. I would highly recommend staying at one of Irene's properties if you wish to have an authentic Tuscan experience.

Casa splendida, pulita e ben tenuta. Posto magnifico tra le colline toscane, punto strategico per visitare diversi siti di interesse. Irene, poi, è stata super accogliente e affabile! Ciliegina sulla torta la spa al centro della sala.
Consigliata vivamente se volete staccare dalla frenesia del quotidiano!

We decided to stay at La Miccia at the end of our vacation in Italy. We knew that after visiting major cities, we would need a break from the hustle and bustle; Irene was responsive, kind, and thoughtful about our specific needs. We truly enjoyed this community. Most of all, we enjoyed a well-thought-out trip to a local vineyard where I spent my birthday, enjoying a five-star meal with superior hospitality. You will not go wrong with renting this amazing and uniquely designed Villa. We were overwhelmed with the details and the romantic bedroom. We also had lovely drivers organized by Irene. Sarah picked us up from the train station, and we loved talking to her. She helped us with our luggage and showed us around the village. We also had a driver to transport us to and from our unique experience at a local vineyard. Again, anything you desire, she really tries to make it happen with great respect for your needs and wants.

We spent 11 nights at La Miccia and loved the glimpse into quaint Tuscan village life. As much as we enjoyed staying in a well-appointed apartment on a beautiful square, it was the planning services that Irene can offer prior to arrival that provided us with experiences we wound never have found on our own. Gourmet wood-fired pizza dinner in a private botanical garden, guided kayaking and catered woodland lunch, guided e-bike tour and home-made picnic lunch and swim at a residence along the river... brilliant cooking class (and subsequent meal) in a hilltop chef’s kitchen and two spectacular dinners at wineries that included conversation and special introductions to all that we were eating. Amazing people and opportunities. Irene took the time to determine what we were looking for during our time in Tuscany and created daily itineraries for us based on our interests. Iamtuscany: Irene and her exceptional team will provide you with a dream stay in one of the most beautiful areas of the world. Grazie mille Irene, Francesca, Sara and Laurenzo!

Casa molto bella e tranquilla, in ottima posizione per visitare la zona di Valdarno (Siena, Arezzo, Cortona).
Il paesino è piccolo ma ha 2 bar e un ristorante.
Ottima la vasca idromassaggio da utilizzare dopo una giornata calda e dopo le lunghe camminate.

Location molto bella all'entrata una cucina ben fornita,il pezzo forte della casa è la sala con vasca riscaldata e camino,sicuramente da riprovare in inverno con il camino acceso.
Stanza da letto con letto a baldacchino 2 bagni belli spaziosi.
Nel complesso molto carina soprattutto grande silenzio in questo paesino diroccato con stradine molto carinee.
Pulizia della casa curatissima.
Nel complesso siamo stati molto bene.
Uniche cose da rivedere secondo me sono il letto a baldacchino un po' commerciale per una casa in pietra come questa,i box doccia fatti di plastica ,soprattutto metterei i bidet nei bagni.
Ma bel complesso ci voglio tornare in inverno per avere il camino acceso.

Un posto da sogno dove trascorrere momenti di vero Relax circondati da un ambiente caloroso.....il fuoco del camino.... la vasca idromassaggio.....un letto a baldacchino e soprattutto la disponibilità e la simpatia della proprietaria. Siamo stati veramente bene e Irene ha esaudito prontamente tutte le nostre richieste.

Appartamento favoloso, accogliente e ben arredato, con tutti i comfort di cui si può avere bisogno. Il paese è molto tranquillo e la posizione è ottima per visitare le campagne toscane. Irene è una host fantastica, disponibile e molto gentile, ti fa sentire subito a casa. L'esperienza in questo posto è veramente molto piacevole, da provare assolutamente!

We had a fantastic stay with Irene! Location was great and the apartment was everything we needed (and more!) for our 5 day stay. The highlight was definitely Irene - she's a fantastic host, was there to greet us, gave us recommendations for everything we wanted. Highlight of our trip was the cooking class with her and her brother Eduardo - authentic food with company that could not be beat!

Our stay in Pergine and with Irene was fantastic! Irene was the perfect host, taking time to show us around the village, providing lots of helpful suggestions what to do and where to go, and being generally very responsive to all kinds of questions. Make sure to take that cooking class, we at least had lots of fun and the food was very yummy. The accommodation was extremely charming and Pergine was a good place from which to explore the surroundings, Arezzo, Siena and the nearby mountains.

I stayed one week at "La Miccia". The appartment is very cosy and comfortable; it is equiped with all you need for a satisfying stay. The location is great: fresh bread, vegetable, pasta, meat and other things to practice typical Italien kitchen can be found withing a few footsteps in local shops. A great gateway to reach the famous attractions in Tuscany or - like I did it - to enjoy the nature and small villages by mountainbike. The best of all is the host, Ms Irene. After a great introduction to the apartment, village and region - with lots of helpfull mountainbiking and hiking suggestions as well as where to get the best wine and olive oil (not the common tourist traps but the real Toscany farming products!) she was present whenever a question rised, usually she even had time for a typical Italian coffee together at the nearby bar. I can 100% recommend this location.

La Miccia è un romantico angolo di incanto nella piazzetta di Pergine. Un luogo silenzioso, confortevole, ampio, pieno di servizi (doppio bagno, camino), arredato con gusto. L'idromassaggio merita un encomio a parte. Favoloso. Ospitalità di Irene da cinque stelle, simpatica cordiale premurosa e disponibile. Nelle vicinanze un sacco di luoghi da visitare (noi abbiamo visto Pienza e Arezzo) e ristoranti tipici dove cenare. un soggiorno da consigliare vivamente a tutti !!

Casa estilo tradicional con instalaciones actuales (netflix, jacuzzi privado) chimenea grande con leña, cama muy cómoda. Muy bien ubicado, el pueblo pequeño con mucho encanto. Mención especial a la atención de la anfitriona, Irene, enseñándonos el pueblo y sus servicios (carnicería típica, supermercado, cafetería, máquina de agua frizzante, bodega Guerrini... ) acercándonos a sus gentes y disponible en todo momento para recomendaciones. Sensación de haber conocido la auténtica Toscana

Irene is amazing. Her home was perfect for us. We didn't want to be in the center of town. It's location was perfect. 30 mins from siena and 20 mins away from a train station which took us to florence. The jacuuzi was amazing. The best part was irene. She is so nice and extremely helpful! 10/10 will come back and recommend to everyone!!
